Job Summary: The Ski Team FIS Alpine Manager is responsible for the success of the FIS Alpine Racing segment of the Team Palisades Tahoe. This list is designed to assist in delimiting job duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned or arise in the course of work. These duties are NOT listed in order of priority.
• Manage Full-Time U18 U21 athletes and oversee FIS U18 U21 coaching staff. Coordinate, design and oversee all activities involved in the training, travel, equipping, and competition of team athletes. Travel with athletes to races on a regional, national, and international level as appropriate.
• Create written team goals and facilitate individual goal setting for all team members. Facilitate goal setting and performance assessments for coaches.
• Be fully aware of and support the mission, vision and goals of all aspects of our program, Palisades Tahoe resort, and Alterra.
• Organize and publish appropriate training for entire year, including competition season, prep period, on and off snow, winter, spring, summer and fall.
• Guide and promote athletic participation in training plan; participate in planned training
• Foster an atmosphere of respect and courtesy between coaches, parents, athletes, TPT and Alterra employees, and the public; ensure that we maintain a strong emphasis on the customer service aspect of our program.
• Assist athletes in the program in obtaining equipment in a timely fashion. Oversee the training of athletes in equipment maintenance and facilitate the pursuit of expert assistance with equipment tuning when appropriate.
• Manage the individual competition schedules of the athletes in a manner that maximizes opportunities for advancement and in accordance with TPT goals. Coordinate these schedules with input and consent from parents, coaches, athletes and Athletic Director.
• Manage team staff. Communicate with appropriate staff regarding progress during the season. Participate in planning meetings with Athletic Director/U System Head Coach/Management and other team coaches.
• Maintaining communication with administrators, parents, and students through meetings, reports, and other vehicles on a regular basis
• Modeling appropriate and ethical behavior consistent with program values and code of conduct.
• Work with Athletic Director/Head Coach, Director of Teams to identify and recruit athletes and coaches.
• Participating in professional development program and maintain outside certifications as necessary.
• Supporting the Conditioning Program, working with the Performance Manager on programming, and overseeing sessions as necessary.
• Accountable for and adherence to financial goals including labor expense/Time & Attendance, equipment & supplies, travel cost and related athlete billing, etc.
• Attending scheduled staff meetings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Required- High School diploma; Higher education preferred
• Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English
• Preferred - US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Level 300 or equivalent
• Preferred - PSIA Certification
• Preferred - International coaching experience
• Required - Supervisory experience (+3 years preferred)
• Required - Sufficient skills with Microsoft Office, Video Analysis Software

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base salary range: $64,480.00- $98,409.64 per year

Primary Job Responsibilities
• To provide coaching expertise and assistance for the FIS Team in collaboration with the Head FIS Coaches for all on and off snow FIS athlete activities including, training, racing and camps. The projected Rowmark FIS Team size for 2023-24 is ~19 athletes.
• To assist in managing our annual ski equipment ordering, ski prep, binding mounting boot work processes. The Assistant Equipment Manager helps the Equipment Manager organize and execute the ordering, billing, receiving and delivery of skis, bindings, boots to the academy Rowmarkers. The initial ski prep and boot work are performed by our local professional shop partners. The Assistant Equipment Manager helps the Equipment Manager organize and execute the drop off, pick up to the shops and student billing for these services. The Assistant Equipment Manager helps the Equipment Manager perform most binding mountain as well as a limited amount of boot work and basic equipment repairs. The Assistant Equipment Manager helps the Equipment Manager perform periodic tuning clinics to the Rowmarkers and manages the dispersal of our SG and DH skis through our loaner program.
• To assist in coaching our conditioning program for all academy athletes, U16/U19/U21 of both genders, in collaboration with our Head Conditioning Coach. The projected total Rowmark Academy Team size for 2023-24 is ~35 athletes.
• To assist our Rowmark Academic Coordinator in working with the Rowmark student-athletes and especially those who struggle with time-management, organization, missing a lot of school, learning disabilities, or other challenges that contribute to poor academic performance. Proctoring study halls during the winter trimester and during camps and race trips with support from other Rowmark staff.
• Evaluate the development of each athlete throughout the season through a goal setting and evaluation process including semi-annual physical testing, and post-camp, mid-season and season-end evaluation writing. Assistance and sharing in writing of evaluations from FIS Head Coaches.
• Assist in clear communication with athletes, parents, team manager and school administration regarding training, competing, and travel.
• Work with Head FIS Coaches and Team Manager to coordinate travel plans for all FIS Team athletes as needed (ground transport, flights, lodging,...)
• Attend periodic staff meetings as scheduled by director
• Attend periodic IMD and/or USSA meetings/clinics
• Stay current with SafeSport, USSA and FIS rules and equipment specifications
• Be available work and travel for extended periods of time
• Be flexible and adaptable to schedule changes due to weather or other factors
• Perform various other duties as requested by the director and head coaches
• Be part of the weekly staff driving rotation to transport Rowmark athletes from school to training and back, which requires obtaining and keeping a Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class C Passenger endorsement)
• Exhibit a consistently professional, positive and mature coaching style in working with adolescent athletes

Skills and Requirements
• Has a Bachelor’s Degree
• Is a Certified USSA Coaches Level 100 Coach or higher
• Will obtain a Utah Commercial Driver’s License in order to share in driving rotation of Rowmark bus to and from training
• Has or will obtain First Aid and CPR certification and update every two years
• Demonstrates cultural competency both on and off the hill
• Functional video camera and computer skills especially with regard to videoing and uploading to our Sprongo video application platform.

• Coordination of educational projects in conjunction with Sports Science, Education and other educational organizations (USASA, AASI, PSIA) that focus on providing coaches and officials with current information.
• Work closely with the Sport Development Director and Sport Director to solve other team and program related issues as needed
• Operational Excellence
• Implement operations of the sport development pipeline including planning and activation against established OKR’s
• Coordinate and distribute specific information for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard website and other communication and content efforts to effectively communicate to all stakeholders
• Event logistics coordination for SBX/SX Holeshot Tour, Race to the Cup Tour, and all development projects and camps
• Event logistics coordination for judges and officials clinics and updates
• Collaborate with communications and content teams to ensure development projects and events are appropriately visible and distributed to stakeholder groups
• Coordination of Freeski, and Snowboard Sport Committees, Sport Development Working Groups, and NorAm Committees. Including management of scheduling, agendas, minutes, sport awards, and other follow up as outlined by the Sport Development Director
• Collect and submit foreign event athlete inscription requests
• Financial Performance
• Enter department expenses in a timely manner and give feedback on necessary project and event budget expenses for the upcoming year to assist the Sport Development Director to balance and maintain department budgets
• Budget management and expense tracking for development events, camps, and projects
